Titolo: Ferry flight through Italy
Post di: mrcub il 08 Luglio 2009, 03:14:33
Hello,

I´m plannig a ferry VFR flight from Valencia (Spain) to Greece in a single engine.

My first stop will be in Marseille, and then the next leg will have +/- 400 NM, and initially I´m thinking to use Perugia San Egidio for a nightstop. I don´t know if Perugia it´s a GA fiendly airport or if there is a better option in this aerea.

The next day I´ll continue to the south for another stop to refuel and the final jump to Greece. I thing that Casale (LIBR) it would OK (I´m right?)

I would appreciate any advice and recommendation, and thanks in advance.

ALBERTO

What aircraft are you flying? What range ? Currently there is no 100LL in LIBR.

Where in Greece are you going? I'v just got back. Until 30 september private GA flights do not pay any landing taxes.

Siena, LIQS, is a good place to land and refuel.

Perugia has avgas, they re  friendly, the terminal is small with everything at hand (ARO, WX, bar etc)  plenty of space on the apron,  IFR approach and  always had  a friendly ATC  cooperation in the air . Same goes for Siena . For fuel , Pescara would be the last place you re sure to find fuel  and you can reach Corfu in any airplane endurance would not be an issue. However I suggest you to corss the adriatic to BRAC  and refuel there (much cheaper) and then southbound along the east side of the adriatic.+
